The Unemployment Insurance (UI) program provides temporary income assistance to Massachusetts workers who are unemployed through no fault of their own and who are able to work, available for work, and looking for a job.  Our on site Unemployment Representative can help you navigate the sometimes overwhelming process, but chances are you might be able to answer your questions online or by phone!

MassHire Springfield does have an Unemployment Claims Representative onsite. The U.I. Rep is available for walk-in claims only. People are seen on a first-come, first-served basis. We begin the daily sign-in process to meet with the representative when our career center opens at 8:30. It is highly advised that people leaving to come here after that time call ahead to inquire as to availability. During periods of peak demand, it is not unusual to fill all slots for the day shortly after opening
