The Unemployment Insurance (UI) program provides temporary income assistance to Massachusetts workers who are unemployed through no fault of their own and who are able to work, available for work, and looking for a job.  Chances are you may be able to get answers to questions online or by phone.

Here is the information you will need to open an Unemployment Insurance Claim.

  • Apply for Unemployment by Phone, call the TeleClaim Center at (877) 626-6800.

    Calls are taken Mon-Thu 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.

  • To request a payment by phone, call TeleCert at (617) 626-6338

    To request weekly benefits, daily 6 a.m.–10 p.m.

  • To check your payment status by phone, call the Payment Status Line at (617) 626-6563

  • To set or change your TeleCert PIN by phone, call the PIN Service Line at (617) 626-6943

  • Voice Relay at 711

    Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
